Die Grünen (A Group of Greens)

Out of curiosity regarding the abusive use of artificial turf in construction sites and my neighbourhood in China in recent years, this project investigates different colour greens through my observation of the co-existence of artificial turf and green lives. The property management company of my residence decided to use artificial turfs to cover the bare earth of the palm trees. That becomes an uncanny aesthetic to me, which has never appeared before.
The turf was initially invented for baseball and football stadium in the 1960s in the United States. However, it is now in different usages. This specific kind of green becomes a new political tool to decorate the urban landscape. It becomes a material of the façade, and yet reflects the ideology hidden behind.
